As you can see in the images below (just to clear up any confusion - I'm pictured on the left, whereas the chimpanzee is pictured on the right) - when faced with scrambling over rough terrain, humans reject a bipedal stance and assume the quadrupedal stance characteristic of their evolutionary relative, the chimpanzee.
